Internship — Field Service Engineer
About us
Spore.Bio is a deeptech start-up born in 2023, building a new paradigm in the quality control systems in Food&Beverage, Cosmetics, and Pharmaceutics factories.
After spending a lot of time in factories environments, we saw the pain it was to make sure products were safe. Traditional quality control has heavy constraints and long waiting times. To change that, we decided to build Spore.Bio, a new generation of microbiological testing.
Our team is dedicated to bringing technology and developing a cutting-edge solution, based on advanced optical and deep-learning technologies, to detect bacterial contamination within seconds.
Are you ready to revolutionize microbiology monitoring in factories? Spore Bio is seeking a Field Service Engineer to develop our cutting-edge data science solution. Join our dynamic team of R&D experts and product managers, and help us build the future of industrial microbiology.
Joining our team at this stage means being at the heart of something truly transformative: while the initial focus is on building a robust MVP, the trajectory ahead is filled with ambitious projects and evolving technical challenges that will shape the future of our company. This role is designed for someone eager not just to contribute, but to set the pace and leave an indelible mark on everything we build together – with the potential to become a key decision-maker as our vision scales. If you're driven by impact and looking for a place where your expertise will grow alongside the product, this is an exceptional opportunity to step in early and help define our success.
About the role

- Customer Relations and success: Support the planning, coordination, and execution of machine rollouts at customer sites.
- Technical Support: Assist engineers with system diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and issue resolution on complex opto-mechanical systems.
- R&D Collaboration: Work alongside experts to refine calibration procedures and improve overall machine reliability.
- Documentation & Continuous Improvement: Contribute to technical documentation, track deployment KPIs, and suggest process optimizations.
Your Profile
- Master’s student (final year) or engineering school student in optronics, mechatronics, instrumentation, or related field.
- Comfortable with optical, mechanical, and electronic systems; eager to learn hands-on.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment.
- Startup mindset: curious, flexible, proactive, and excited to learn quickly.
- Good communication skills and fluent English (international team environment).
We don’t expect you to know everything from day one. What matters most is your curiosity, drive to learn, and willingness to dive into challenges.
