Spore.Bio is a deeptech start-up born in 2023, building a new paradigm in the quality control systems in Food&Beverage, Cosmetics, and Pharmaceutics factories.

After spending a lot of time in factories environments, we saw the pain it was to make sure products were safe. Traditional quality control has heavy constraints and long waiting times. To change that, we decided to build Spore.Bio, a new generation of microbiological testing.

Our team is dedicated to bringing technology and developing a cutting-edge solution, based on advanced optical and deep-learning technologies, to detect bacterial contamination within seconds.

Your ability to communicate concisely the client’s needs, while clearly explaining our product in an accessible and intelligible way, will be essential. You will be the bridge between customer feedback and our internal teams, ensuring alignment and continuous improvement of the product.

About the role 🎯

This internship is a great opportunity to discover the industrial biotech world from the inside, gain hands-on lab experience, and participate in deploying innovative technology to the field.

You’ll work closely with the Operations and R&D teams, alternating between in-house lab work and support missions in the field, learning every step of the process, from preparing samples to interacting with end-users.

Your role will include:

• Supporting the deployment of the technology in industrial settings
• Participating in validation of microbiological results (cultures, microscopy, matrix processing)
• Helping train operators and adapting protocols to real-life challenges
• Assisting in the lab with bacterial cultures, microscopy, and innovation
• Contributing to protocol improvement and documentation
• Discovering the reality of client interactions and on-site operations
• Collaborating with teams across R&D, product, and field support

About you

You don’t need to check every box. What matters most is your curiosity, motivation, and desire to learn.

We’d love to work with someone who is:

• Studying microbiology, biotechnology, bioengineering, or a related field
• Curious about how things work, from bacteria to machines
• Open-minded, adaptable, and eager to explore the industrial world
• Comfortable working both in the lab and occasionally on-site
• Able to communicate clearly and work in a collaborative environment
• Fluent in English is a plus, but not mandatory

Recruitment process

• 30-min call with the Hiring Manager
• 45-min personality interview with two team members
• A 1 hour business/technical case study followed by a debrief with team members
• 1 hour Founders interview
